Fiber Collage

Fiber and thread collage is an outgrowth of my ribbon weaving and sewing activities. The initial pick-up of each collage is left to chance, unlike the ordered progression of ribbon weaving. This is followed by manipulation, addition or removal of specific fibers, filaments or threads, or scraps of ribbon or fabric – controlling color and pattern and the selection of threads which may be fine or thick, straight or crimped or fuzzy. My aim is a pleasing composition. Titles come afterwards and are often obvious (to me, at least).
